FEMHACK [NYC]: All-Female Hackathon

Join forces with incredible female talent in NYC to build a world-changing company!

Two ways we stand out from other hackathons:

  • All lead participants identify as female

  • We will be judging overall company idea (including business plan and market size potential), not just the prototype created during the hackathon

About FemHack

In 48 hours, our teams of female engineers, designers, marketers and business leads will:

  • Build a working product prototype that a founder may continue building post-hackathon

  • Create a Go-to-Market Strategy for their product

  • Create an investor deck and business plan (including market research) for their product

Register specifically based on your skills (dev, design, GTM, business) and you will be added to teams accordingly.

The top three teams will be awarded cash prizes based on:

  • functionality and overall user experience of the prototype

  • viability of business plan and Go-to-Market Strategy

Each team will present their work to judges on Monday, February 10th at 6pm. After winners are awarded, we will celebrate all hackers as part of our Founder and Funders Networking event. Please be sure to register here.

More about the FEMHACK organizers:

Fierce Foundry is a venture studio that co-founds startups with female FemTech founders by providing them with initial seed investment, resources for product and business development, and support for later-stage fundraising. Learn more in our deck here.

Sweethearts Drawing Club with Pepita Sandwich

Sweethearts Drawing Club with Pepita Sandwich

Join us for a (beginner friendly!) evening of drawing and zine making about all the big feelings tied to love. This February, we’ll have the ever so talented Pepita Sandwich guiding us through the process of transferring our feelings onto paper.

Throughout the guided, two hour session, you will have the chance to make a zine poetry comic. It’ll be reminiscent of those tender moments of making a little valentine for your class when you were a kid to transferring those feelings of love now for yourself or someone special in your life into a different sweet tangible piece of art.

We’ll collectively leave our drawing baggage, perfectionism and inner critics in the driveway— embracing a spirit of exploration and play through color, together.

Drawers of all skill levels, professions and backgrounds are welcome here, and will find a breath of fresh air in the opportunity to experiment and play alongside other creative-minded folk.

All materials + hot bevvies will be provided. Feel free to bring your own sketchbook!

What can I expect from a club at RecCreate?

We design all of our clubs at RecCreate to feel like going over to a friends apartment for a craft hang where they took care of grabbing all the materials and show you the basics before the music starts bumping! Our emphasis is on process, play and community building, with conversation prompts throughout.

Cancelation Policy

Unfortunately for this event tickets are non-refundable/exchange-able! Please double check your calendar. In the event you are no longer able to make it, you are welcome to give your ticket to a friend or swap it on our ticket swap board. Just tell them to use your name!

Photography Disclaimer

Though we do our best to keep all photography / video to a minimum, please note all guests who attend consent to being photographed and videoed which may be used for marketing or promotional purposes at the discretion of RecCreate Collective.

Age Restriction & Dogs

All guests must be 18+ to attend and though we love your pups, unfortunately cannot have them in the studio!

Luvvly Speed Dating NYC : in person first dates [31-39yr]

This experience is designed for singles looking for opposite-sex connections: men seeking women and women seeking men.

We're all about face-to-face connections through fun and easy in-person events.

We do speed-dating a little differently.

There's no host, reserved seating, or obvious signs of an 'event'.

Instead, show up and follow personalized notifications sent to your phone guiding you through a mix of first dates!

Here's how it works:

🔎 Find your date.
You’ll get each date's name and description (they have yours too.)
The Meet-Cute: You get to find each other!
Each date is about 10 mins.
When your date ends, you’ll get your next dates info. Time to rotate!

💬 Prompts.
Awkward silences? No thanks.
We'll nudge conversations with fun prompts to help spark laughter, stories, and genuine connections.
Match or not, our goal is simple: to ensure you have a great time connecting with new people, regardless of the outcome.

💘 Matching.
We've taken the nerves out of making the first move.
After the event, your remote host will send you a match form.
There you’ll indicate who you’d like to match with.
If a match is mutual, your host will text you their contact within 24 hours.
